
The Russian Sputnik V vaccine is 96.3% safe and effective, according to Belarusian scientists from the Republican Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health and the Belarusian Ministry of Health. The results of the study are published on the portal of reprints of medical literature MedRxiv.

Scientists administered 1.48 million first doses of the vaccine and 1.21 million second doses between February 2020 and September 2021. Most of the studied side effects after vaccination were mild or moderate. No deaths due to vaccination have been reported, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), which is familiar with the full text of the study, announces.
The study confirms the findings of a previous study by the Ministry of Health of Belarus. It was carried out on the basis of data from 860 thousand people who were vaccinated with Sputnik V from January to July 2021.
Belarus has approved the Sputnik V vaccine. The country has established its own production of the vaccine. In addition to Sputnik V, vaccination is carried out in the republic by Sputnik Light and the Chinese Sinopharm.
