The Spanish authorities have temporarily arrested the superyacht Valerie worth $140 million. According to InfoLibre, Madrid believes that it is connected with the HEAD of Rostec, which is under EU sanctions.

The Spanish Ministry of Transport decided to detain the superyacht Valerie, moored in the port of Barcelona, which is allegedly associated with the head of the Rostec state corporation, Sergei Chemezov. InfoLibre writes about this, which refers to the relevant resolution of the General DIRECTOR of the Main Directorate of the Merchant Marine (one of the departments of the ministry).

The cost of the vessel, according to the publication, is $140 million, or about €127 million.

The ruling states that the yacht is temporarily held until the authorities determine that “the said vessel is not owned, held or controlled by a person or entity” included in the EU sanctions lists.
