Experts respond to reports of a peak in the incidence of COVID in the fall

The possibility of another surge in the incidence in September-October was predicted in a commentary by RIA Novosti by infectious disease specialist Yevgeny Timakov. He called the new strain "delta plus" the reason.

“I don’t know why everyone is so scared of the new strain, it’s not as scary as it turned out. Yes, it's changed a bit, it happens. But he has not changed enough to say that his properties have changed very seriously or that vaccines do not help, ”Zverev explained to RBC.

The expert notes that if the vaccine preparations were "done correctly", then they should be effective against the "delta plus" strain as well. He claims that so far no mutations have occurred that would change the structure of the virus so much that immunity to it will not remain.
