In the review, Goldman Sachs estimates the proportion of the population of countries with "immunity to COVID-19" - in Russia, according to the bank's calculations, it is 62%. Although the authors do not disclose the exact methodology for the assessment, in general, the indicator is summed up as the percentage of those vaccinated with at least the first component and the percentage of those who were not vaccinated.

Among developing countries, Russia fell into the group with a “moderate” spread of the virus. Analysts also assessed the situation in Turkey and South Korea. The best dynamics is shown by Argentina, Brazil, Indonesia and South Africa - in these countries, the incidence has decreased. The situation worsened in China, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, as well as in Israel, Nigeria and Mexico.

In developed markets, only Spain has seen the spread of COVID-19. "Moderate" dynamics remains in France, Italy and Germany. At the same time, the incidence rose in the UK, and accelerated in the USA , Canada and Japan. However, the number of hospitalizations remains at much lower levels compared to previous waves of the pandemic in the US and Europe.

Dynamics of vaccination

According to Goldman Sachs, in Russia the share of citizens who have received at least one dose of the vaccine has not yet reached 30%. According to this indicator, the country is between India and Thailand. The leaders of the list with more than 70% of the population are Spain, Canada, Chile and Singapore.
