Reducing the incidence and increasing vaccination
“Since week 47, we have seen a decrease in the incidence of coronavirus infection after 11 weeks of its rise. Today, in the 50th week, we are seeing a decline of almost 40%. All those activities that are being carried out today in conjunction with vaccination against covid-19 have made it possible to stabilize the incidence and there has been a tendency to reduce it, ”said Lyubov Avdonina, deputy HEAD of Rospotrebnadzor for the Republic of Tatarstan, at a press conference in the Tatar-Inform news agency.
In total, 42,060 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Tatarstan to date. To date, 2.270 million residents of the republic have been vaccinated. Vaccination coverage is 74%.
“That is, almost 1.150 million people were vaccinated in two months: after the decision of the chief sanitary DOCTOR was introduced on October 11. In two months, we have vaccinated a record number of people. This is a very good indicator, - says Avdonina.
At the same time, the epidemiological threshold for influenza has been exceeded by 35%. A total of 272 cases were identified, over the past week - 118.
“Taking into account the fact that this year the vaccine did not arrive on time and not in the volume in which we expected it, only 26% of the population managed to be vaccinated. As of today, the vaccination campaign has been completed,” she said.
