Logistics disruption and general stability problems in the global economy have created a new shortage: this time the lack of carbon dioxide is noted in the United States, Europe and RUSSIA

One of the global problems of the 21st century is an excess of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. He, in turn, is one of the causes of global warming and climate change throughout the planet. Countries, companies and citizens are limiting their carbon footprint and are striving to reduce their CO2 emissions.

However, an excess of carbon dioxide in the planet's atmosphere does not mean that there is enough of it on earth. In 2022, a number of industries that need concentrated carbon dioxide to operate faced a shortage of it.

Although common, CO2 is difficult to capture from the atmosphere on its own; such developments are also underway, but for now, manufacturers have to rely on industrial suppliers, and they fail due to supply chain breaks. Shortages could leave some countries without beer, food or dry ice.

The most common use of carbon dioxide is in carbonated soft drinks such as beer. CO2 is added to it not only for excellent foam, but also to prevent oxidation processes, due to which the product deteriorates faster.
