In the Kaliningrad region, the increase in the incidence of CORONAVIRUS has decreased following the results of the last week (from July 5 to July 11). “If on the 26th calendar week we had an increase in weekly incidence of 43%, then by 27-15%,” said Elena Babur, chief sanitary DOCTOR of the region, speaking at a round table in the Kaliningrad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“The last week, despite the fact that you see a large number of cases every day, gives us hope to talk very, very carefully about the stabilization of the incidence,” continued the HEAD of the Rospotrebnadzor department.
According to her, there is a slight decrease in the morbidity rates of the adult population and pensioners over 65 in the region.
“But we say this with a lot of caution. And yet we are talking about the fact that both restrictive measures and the start of a wider vaccination against covid of persons who have already received a second vaccination against this disease will, of course, have a positive result, ”Babura said, recalling that many patients remain in hospitals on oxygen support, many are treated as outpatients.
“The level of herd immunity does not give optimism, and we need to increase the pace of immunization. Without a vaccine, it is very difficult,” the official concluded.
