The head of WHO announced a "tsunami of new cases" due to "delta" and "omicron"

Delta and omicron strains can lead to a multiple increase in the number of cases of CORONAVIRUS infection. This was stated at a briefing by the HEAD of the World HEALTH Organization (WHO) Tedros Ghebreyesus.

According to him, because of the “delta” and “omicron”, the number of cases of covid-19 infection is increasing daily, and with it the number of hospitalizations and deaths.

The head of WHO stressed that the fact that the omicron strain is more contagious is of particular concern. “This could lead to a tsunami of cases, which could greatly increase the pressure on healthcare systems around the world,” Ghebreyesus said.
