The partial collapse of the bridge structures at the 67th kilometer of the Sudzha-Sosnovy Bor railway in the Kursk region was a sabotage. This was announced by the Governor of the region Roman Starovoit in TELEGRAM.

“The information was confirmed, it was a sabotage, so a criminal case has been opened,” the governor said.

The collapse of the bridge occurred on May 1 at about 11:20, Starovoit reported earlier. There were no casualties in the incident, he said. The governor specified that freight trains were moving along the railway line.

Russian Railways also explained that the section of the railway bridge was used for shunting work, it was not electrified. The situation did not affect the movement of trains, the company noted.

The Sudzha - Sosnovy Bor section belongs to the Moscow Railway. Sudzha station is located in the south-west of the Kursk region, about 16 km from the border with Ukraine in the Sumy direction, Sosnovy Bor - 20 km.

Earlier, on May 1, the Governor of the Belgorod Region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported a fire at a Defense Ministry facility in the region. According to him, one of the local residents was slightly injured.

In the video of the special services, the detainees said that they wanted to damage the railway tracks in the Belgorod region, along which Russian military trains move. One of the detainees said that he "was looking for access to the power structures of Ukraine, in particular the SBU."

The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 30 and part 1 of Art. 281 of the Criminal Code (preparation for sabotage). The maximum penalty under this article is up to 15 years in prison.
