The HEAD of the Gagauz autonomy of Moldova, Irina Vlakh, signed a law allowing the wearing of the St. George ribbon in the territory of Gagauzia. This was reported by the press service of the administration of the autonomy.
“On the territory of Gagauzia, it is allowed to manufacture, store and use the St. George ribbon, red flags of Victory and other symbols associated with the Victory in the Great Patriotic War,” the message says.
In addition, the law establishes the holding of events on the territory of Gagauzia to "perpetuate the memory of the war veterans and patriotic education of the younger generation," the administration specified.
Gagauzia is an autonomy within Moldova. It has its own constitution - the Charter, the president - the Bashkan, the legislative body - the People's Assembly and the capital - Comrat. Unlike the rest of Moldova, where one state language is established, there are three of them: Gagauz, Moldavian and Russian. In 2019, Vlah, who is a supporter of the rapprochement of autonomy with RUSSIA, was re-elected president in Gagauzia.
