Gunzburg said that the introduction of QR codes will help avoid COVID mutations

The introduction of mandatory QR codes in public places will help to avoid the emergence of new mutations of the CORONAVIRUS, said the DIRECTOR of the Center. Gamalei Alexander Gintsburg, RIA Novosti reports.

Due to the fact that Russians who are not vaccinated against covid-19 will not visit crowded places and will not become infected, they will not be able to spread the virus.

“Accordingly, [unvaccinated] will not <...> develop new epidemiologically significant variants of COVID-19,” Gunzburg said.

The day before, the government submitted to the State Duma bills on the introduction of a system of QR codes in transport and public places, which confirm the coronavirus transferred in the last six months, vaccination against it, or a medical exemption. If the bill is passed, codes will be asked at the entrance to catering establishments, shops where there are no essential goods, on trains and planes for long-distance and international transportation.
