In August, the Russian Ministry of Health approved changes to the instructions for the Sputnik Light vaccine and allowed the use of the drug for people over 60 years of age. At the same time, the ministry clarified that people over 60 years of age who have not previously been immunized are not recommended to use Sputnik Light due to a decrease in the functions of the immune system, and vaccination with the Sputnik V two-component vaccine is indicated to form an immune response.

At the same time, Deputy Minister of Health of RUSSIA Oleg Gridnev said earlier that the Sputnik Light vaccine is primarily aimed at the young population, which produces the required amount of antibodies after a single use of the drug.
