Gunzburg revealed details about the trials of the Sputnik V vaccine on children

About 350 children and adolescents aged 12 to 17 will take part in clinical trials of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine. This was announced by the director of the center named after N.F. Gamalei Alexander Gintsburg in an interview with TASS.

“There will be different concentrations of Sputnik V for each age. We'll see how the vaccine works. I think side effects will be minimal,” Gunzburg said.

He noted that registration of the drug for children is scheduled for mid-September. “This is a dose of Sputnik V, but the certificate will be separate,” the creator of the vaccine specified.

Yesterday, the World Health Organization (WHO) allowed children to be vaccinated against coronavirus. Updated WHO guidance says that "children 12 to 15 years of age at high risk along with other priority groups" can be offered a vaccine developed by Pfizer and BionTech. The organization cites the findings of the WHO Strategic Advisory Group of Experts that the Pfizer vaccine is suitable for adolescents aged 12 years and older.
