Gunzburg predicted an increase in the incidence of COVID to last winter

At the same time, Gunzburg expressed hope that the number of deaths due to COVID-19 detected per day would not reach the figures of the past winter season. “Moreover, the strain is not so virulent, and there is also a certain immune layer in Russia. it is important that people get vaccinated and thus protect themselves,” he said.

Since the start of the pandemic, five waves of CORONAVIRUS have passed in Russia. The last one started in January. At its peak, on February 11, almost 204 thousand cases of infection were detected in the country per day, but then the figure began to decline.

The incidence of coronavirus in Russia began to decline in February and reached its lowest level since the start of the pandemic by June. A new rise in the incidence of COVID-19 began in mid-July. If at the beginning of the month about 3 thousand people infected with coronavirus were detected per day, then by August the incidence increased tenfold. Over the previous day, for the first time since March, more than 37 thousand people infected with COVID-19 were detected in the country, another 65 people died.

The HEAD of the Russian Ministry of HEALTH, Mikhail Murashko, called the increase in the incidence of the "next stage" of the pandemic and called for the mask regime to be observed again and to be re-vaccinated.

Rospotrebnadzor believes that at the federal level the situation with the incidence is not critical and there is no need to introduce restrictions. However, the agency recommended wearing masks in public places in regions where the weekly incidence rate exceeds 50 cases per 100,000 population.
