Earlier, Gunzburg said that the nasal vaccine is the second component of Sputnik V, designed to be sprayed into the nose. The scientist noted that the vaccine against COVID-19 in the form of a nasal spray cannot replace the injectable vaccine, it was created only for additional protection of the body.

In October, the Ministry of HEALTH authorized the use of a nasal form of the vaccine for volunteers during the second phase of testing a new form of the drug. The research will last until December 2023 and will involve 500 volunteers.
