The nasal vaccine against CORONAVIRUS will go into civilian circulation in three to four months, the DIRECTOR of the Center named after V.I. Gamalei Alexander Gintsburg.
The drug will be effective against the new Omicron strain, the scientist assured. “Laboratory experiments show that Sputnik V in the usual injectable form protects against Omicron, naturally, and in the nasal form it will be effective,” he said.
Formerly the Center Gamalei reported that the nasal vaccine will hit the market in the first quarter of 2022.
The drug is the second component of the Sputnik V vaccine from the Center. Gamaleya in the form of a powder that is sprayed into the nose.
