Finland extended restrictions on the border with Russia due to the pandemic

The Ministry of the Interior of Finland, due to covid-19, has extended border restrictions with other countries, including Russia, until October 10. This is stated on the website of the department.

Such a decision was made there, taking into account the data on the incidence, the local Ministry of Internal Affairs explained. In addition, the ministry stressed, "the achieved vaccination coverage is not yet assessed as adequate, and the risk of overloading [the] HEALTH care system remains."

Consequently, the Finnish authorities decided: “It is necessary to extend the decision [on border restrictions] from September 2, 2021 until October 10, 2021.”

Anyone who has completed a full course of vaccination against COVID-19 with vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or the World Health Organization can now enter Finland, the ministry said. These are Anglo-Swedish ASTRAZENECA, Chinese Sinovac and Sinopharm, Moderna and American drugs from Pfizer / BioNTech, as well as from Johnson & Johnson. it is not yet possible to enter Finland vaccinated with Sputnik V: there is no Russian vaccine in the EMA and WHO registries yet.
