Johnson became an honorary doctor of Lviv National University

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson became an honorary DOCTOR of the Ivan Franko Lviv National University (LNU), Sky News reports.

This happened during Johnson’s visit to Ukraine, the channel writes. Sky News showed a photo of the politician from the ceremony, in which he is dressed in a black robe, with a matching headdress visible on his HEAD.

A degree can be awarded to a person based on his merits, even if he had no previous connection with the educational institution, Sky News notes.

The academic council of the university awarded Johnson an honorary doctorate in October 2022 on the recommendation of the rector's office, and he now attended the ceremony in person. In a message marking the award, the university called Johnson an "outstanding British politician" and a "great friend of Ukraine."

Johnson himself, after being awarded the title, said that he was greatly honored and expressed a desire to visit the university in the future.

Boris Johnson has been Prime Minister of Great Britain since July 2019. He resigned in 2022 amid a scandal involving former Conservative Party chief whip Chris Pincher, who was accused of harassment. The reason was also accusations against the prime minister about his participation in parties during the lockdown due to covid .
