Children's vaccine against COVID-19 will arrive in Tatarstan at the end of January

The country is expecting the delivery of the Sputnik M vaccine. The Ministry of HEALTH of the Republic of Tatarstan reported that the drug has already begun to be sent to the regions

As chief epidemiologist, specialist in immunoprophylaxis of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan Dmitry Lopushov said today at a press conference in the Republican Clinical Hospital, the delivery of the children's vaccine to the republic is expected by the end of January. 

“Delivery of a children's vaccine against a new CORONAVIRUS infection to the regions of the Russian Federation has begun. According to preliminary information, in the near future it will arrive in the Republic of Tatarstan, ”Tatar-Inform news agency quoted Lopushov as saying.

According to the Russian Ministry of Health, the vaccine will arrive in Tatarstan by the end of January, Lovushov said.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan announced that vaccination of minors under 15 years of age will be carried out with the consent of their parents. From the age of 15, adolescents can give their consent to vaccination. At the moment, together with the pediatric network, various options for organizing vaccination points for children are being discussed.

According to RBC, the Sputnik M drug for adolescents aged 12-17 was registered by the Ministry of Health on November 24. Clinical trials started in July.

Vaccine research was carried out on the basis of 12 children's medical institutions in the capital. In November, the third phase of trials began, as a result of which it was decided that the dosage of the drug would be 1/5 of Sputnik V for adults and would also be administered in two doses with a break of 21 days.
