
Actor and DIRECTOR Vladimir Safronov was a very courageous and charismatic man, actor Vasily Dakhnenko shared his memories with RBC.
He said he was delighted to work with Safronov and noted that such onstage encounters became a "real school" for him, an opportunity to learn from him. "I continued to learn by performing with him on stage, seeing how he handled his roles, how he lived, how he sought to draw something out of me, to learn something. He's a very natural person and actor with a strong charisma, an interesting, vibrant personality unlike any other, a brilliant delivery, a voice and timbre that are very different from others," Dakhnenko shared.
According to him, Safronov "served" the theater, thereby building and strengthening its reputation. He also noted the actor's teaching work. "His courses always produced wonderful young men and women who, with the right attitude and maintaining their professional skills, later became stars in theater and film," Dakhnenko said.
He also recalled how he helped Safronov in his final years, when joint pain was making it difficult for him to move. But despite this, Dakhnenko noted, the artist continued to perform on stage and performed his roles brilliantly.
"He was a highly respected man. I was amazed at how he endured it all. He was, of course, a courageous man and a courageous actor, so I will remember him as such, and he will always be an example for me. It's a great shame. Blessed and eternal memory to Vladimir Alekseevich," he concluded.
Safronov died on August 5 at the age of 84. The theater did not provide details of his death. His daughter, Yulia, told TASS that he presumably died of cardiac arrest.
Safronov was born on November 1, 1940. He graduated from the Shchepkin Theatre School in 1962 and joined the Maly Theatre ten years later. He played around 60 roles there, serving for over 50 years.
Safronov is a People's Artist of RUSSIA. In 1997, the actor was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, 2nd Class, and in 2020, he received a presidential medal and a letter of thanks from the Ministry of Culture for organizing educational activities during the pandemic.covid-19 .
