In Russia, over the past 24 hours, 8951 people have been identified as infected with the coronavirus covid-19 . This is reported by the operational headquarters for the fight against infection.

The total number of people infected in Russia has reached 5,001,505 people, of which more than 4.6 million have been cured. Over the past day, cases of infection were registered in 83 regions of Russia. Not a single case was detected in the Jewish Autonomous Region and the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. Most of the infected were in Moscow (2924), St. Petersburg (842), Moscow region (769), as well as in Rostov (195), Nizhny Novgorod (145), Voronezh (144), Saratov (121) and Irkutsk (119) regions .

Over the past 24 hours, 357 people have died in Russia due to COVID-19. The total number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the headquarters, was 118,482.
