The share of Russians who received at least the first dose of the vaccine exceeded 30% of the total population, which, according to Rosstat for 2019, amounted to 146 million people

At least 44 million Russians have already received at least one dose of the CORONAVIRUS vaccine, said Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova. A full dose of the vaccine has already received 37 million people in RUSSIA, she said.

“As of today, the number of citizens who have been vaccinated with the first component has amounted to more than 44 million people, and more than 37 million people have been fully vaccinated,” TASS quoted Golikova as saying.

She also commented on Rosstat data on record mortality from coronavirus infection in July 2021 - the number of deaths of Russians who were diagnosed with covid-19 for the first time exceeded 50 thousand people in a month.

“According to official data from Rosstat, mortality in July 2021 increased by 18.6% compared to the same period last year. This is due to a significant rise in the incidence of a new coronavirus infection in Russia, compared to last year, which began in June of this year and continues, according to the results of the last week, in ten regions of the Russian Federation,” Golikova noted.

She added that the death rate in August, according to operational data, remains at the level of July. “At the same time, a significant decrease in mortality from a new coronavirus infection occurred in August this year in the Central Federal District, including Moscow and the Moscow Region, in the North-Western Federal District, including St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. These dynamics are taking shape due to the increase in vaccination coverage of the population,” the Deputy Prime Minister explained.
