The number of cases of infection with "omicron" in Moscow exceeded 1.8 thousand.

In Moscow, 1831 cases of infection with the omicron strain of CORONAVIRUS were registered, according to the website of the Moscow Department of Rospotrebnadzor.

According to the department, the majority of cases (79.7%) did not travel outside Moscow and the region, and the remaining cases (371) are associated with trips to other countries.

Most of the imported cases of "omicron" are associated with tourist trips to Turkey (15%), the United Arab Emirates (10%), the Dominican Republic and Egypt (8% each), as well as trips to a number of other countries.

Most of those infected with "omicron" are adults from 40 to 65 years old (43%) and from 18 to 39 years old (41%). Among children, infections with the omicron strain have not been registered, the department of Rospotrebnadzor reported.
