The number of cases of COVID-19 in the world exceeded 300 million

The number of detected cases of COVID-19 in the world since the beginning of the pandemic has exceeded 300 million and amounted to 300,002,021 (at 6:15 Moscow time), follows from data from Johns Hopkins University.

The fact that the number of confirmed COVID-19 infections worldwide has exceeded 300 million was also reported by the Worldometer resource, which accumulates data from national HEALTH services. According to his calculations, the total number of coronavirus infections worldwide is already more than 300.9 million.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has not yet had time to update its data and reports (as of January 6) only 296.49 million infections.

The United States remains the leader in the number of known cases of the disease,  with more than 58.4 million people infected with COVID-19 there, according to Hopkins University. In second place is India (35.1 million), in third is Brazil (22.32 million). Also in the top five are the UK (14.1 million) and France (11.2 million). In RUSSIA, according to the operational headquarters on the morning of January 6, 10.6 million infections were detected.

According to Johns Hopkins University, 5.47 million people worldwide have died after being infected with the coronavirus. According to Wordometer, the number of victims of the disease has already exceeded 5.49 million.
