The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation issued a registration certificate for the EpiVacCorona-N coronavirus vaccine last Thursday.
Earlier, the CEO of Vector, Rinat Maksyutov, reported that there were no fundamental differences between EpiVacKorona-N and the earlier EpiVacKorona. According to him, vaccines differ in technological features of production, which has become the main reason for the need for new clinical trials.
The EpiVacCorona coronavirus vaccine was registered on October 13, 2020. It became the second Russian vaccine against COVID-19 . Clinical trials of the drug began in early December. The drug entered civilian circulation on January 1, 2021.
"EpiVacCoron" was created on the basis of artificially synthesized short fragments of viral proteins. With their help, the immunity of a vaccinated person must learn to recognize virus cells.
