Sweating profusely during sleep may indicate infection with the omicron strain of CORONAVIRUS, said Amir Khan, an internist and senior lecturer at the Leeds Medical School at the University of Bradford in the UK, on ITV's Lorraine, reports the Daily Star.
Khan, referring to doctors in South Africa, said that patients with a new variant of the coronavirus complain of increased sweating at night. “This is such a night sweat when you need to get up and change your wet clothes,” said the therapist.
He pointed out that, in addition to night sweats, patients with the omicron strain have a dry cough, aches, fatigue, and a sore throat.
Khan emphasized that these new symptoms should be added to the list of possible indicators of covid-19 on the UK National HEALTH Service website in order to quickly determine the variant of the disease on these grounds, as well as to simplify registration for a PCR test.
