The sailing brig "Russia" with banners in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Russian tricolor and red sails passed along the Neva at the Scarlet Sails festival in St. Petersburg, Fontanka reports.

According to the publication, the culmination of the graduates' holiday was accompanied by numerous fireworks and the passage along the Neva, the symbol of the holiday - the brig "Russia".

As RIA Novosti clarified, the two-masted brig was decorated with 18 scarlet sails. The sails were made from lightweight materials especially for the graduation ball. Immediately before the appearance of the ship, a luminous inscription "Let's go" appeared over the Neva.

Holiday for graduates "Scarlet Sails" in St. Petersburg began with queues at checkpoints. So, due to the aggravated situation with covid-19 in the region, all guests at the entrance were checked for temperature and the presence of protective masks. Even before the start of the holiday, it was decided to halve the number of people invited to Palace Square this year.

Before the climax of the holiday, well-known performers performed on the stage on Palace Square. The main themes of the holiday this year were the 30th anniversary of the return of the tricolor Russian flag, the anniversary of the birth of St. Prince Alexander Nevsky and the 60th anniversary of the first manned flight into space.
