Brazil refuses to vaccinate pregnant women with AstraZeneca

The Brazilian authorities have decided to stop vaccinating pregnant women against CORONAVIRUS with the British-Swedish company ASTRAZENECA after the death of a woman who had previously been vaccinated with this drug. This was reported by the Brazilian National Sanitary Inspection Agency (Anvisa), reports Rueters.

The department clarified that a 35-year-old woman vaccinated against coronavirus had a hemorrhagic stroke at the 23rd week of pregnancy. As a result of a stroke, the woman and the fetus died.

Prior to this, Anvis recommended suspending the use of the coronavirus vaccine for immunization of pregnant women. For women who have already been vaccinated with AstraZeneca, the agency advised to see a DOCTOR for observation.

Previously, a government committee of experts in Norway recommended that vaccines, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson (J&J) be excluded from the list of drugs recommended for mass vaccination against COVID-19, reports NRK.
