Former National Security Adviser to the President of the United States John Bolton believes that the current head of state Joe Biden and NATO made a strategic mistake before the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine. He stated this in an interview with Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland.
“For several months, the United States and NATO, led by Joe Biden, have repeatedly emphasized that in Ukraine there will be no intervention of Western troops in any way,” Bolton said (quoted by n-tv.de). In his opinion, it was a "big mistake".
According to Bolton, "You can't show your cards to an adversary" like Russian President Vladimir Putin .
The former adviser believes that if Biden had not made any statements at all in recent months regarding the possible deployment of Western troops, it would be better "for the security of Ukraine and for world peace."
