
The Moscow Department of Culture has published data on the income and property of the heads of its subordinate institutions for 2021.
The richest cultural figure turned out to be the president of the Moscow International House of Music, conductor Vladimir Spivakov : his income amounted to 158.3 million rubles. According to the document, Spivakov owns two plots of land individually, and he and his wife own an apartment of 360 sq. m and a residential building with an area of 381 sq. m, as well as another plot. His wife declared 12 million rubles. Spivakov became richer more than twice as compared to last year - then he earned 61.6 million rubles.
In second place is Igor Butman , artistic director of the Moscow Jazz Orchestra conducted by I. Butman (96 million rubles). The musician owns two residential buildings with an area of 293.7 and 607 square meters. m, two land plots and six apartments ranging from 37.3 to 161.8 sq. m, including one in the US and one in the UAE (all of this property, except for the Emirates apartment, was his property last year, when Butman earned 88.2 million rubles). The saxophonist owns a Maybach 62 car.
Nadezhda Babkina , artistic director of the Russian Song Theater, closes the top three . Babkina earned 71.49 million rubles. (in 2020, its income amounted to 56.6 million rubles). The number of real estate objects owned by Babkina decreased in 2021 compared to 2020: now she owns a residential building with an area of 310.5 sq. m, an apartment of 112.3 sq. m and a share in an apartment of 124.9 sq. m, two land plots (1400 and 100 sq. m), a garage and a sauna. Babkina is the owner of a Mercedes-Benz car.
