More than 30 senators will miss the last meeting of the Federation Council due to illness

More than 30 senators will not come to the last meeting of the Federation Council of the autumn session due to illness, Vyacheslav Timchenko, HEAD of the Federation Council Committee on Rules and Organization of Parliamentary Activities, told TASS .

“31 senators will not attend the meeting on Friday due to illness,” he said. According to information on the chamber's website, there are 177 senators in the Federation Council.

The autumn session of the upper house of parliament will end on December 22. The agenda of the meeting includes about 70 issues, in particular the law on extending credit holidays for those mobilized until the end of 2024.

In early November, State Duma deputies were required to undergo testing for CORONAVIRUS before the meeting on November 7, because several parliamentarians fell ill, two deputies told RBC. The State Duma noted that we are only talking about conducting tests before the start of the working week.

Rospotrebnadzor called the increase in the incidence of COVID, as well as influenza and ARVI in the fall, expected due to cold weather and increased contacts of people after the summer holidays. The department did not rule out the introduction of restrictive measures at the local level.
