The Investigative Committee of RUSSIA will investigate the mining of a dam in the Donetsk People's Republic by "Ukrainian nationalists", such an order was given by the HEAD of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin, the website said.
We are talking about a dam on the reservoir of the Uglegorsk thermal power plant on the Lugan River near Svetlodarsk, the department specified. Investigators intend to establish the commanders of the Ukrainian units who made the decision to mine the dam.
“Burning the dam could lead to the flooding of several settlements with a total population of more than 15,000 people and, as a result, a threat to the safety of the civilian population,” the UK said in a statement.

The mining of a dam on the Lugan River earlier in the day, on April 14, was reported by the Ministry of Defense. The representative of the department, Mikhail Mizintsev, then noted that in the event of an explosion after the water left, the water supply, sewerage and water treatment facilities with chemical reservoirs would be damaged throughout the flooding area.
“[The explosion] will lead to a sharp deterioration in the sanitary and epidemiological situation and the spread of infectious diseases in the Bakhmut region,” a Defense Ministry spokesman said.

At the end of March, the Ministry of Defense reported on the mining of the Khadzhibey dam in the Odessa region on behalf of the head of the region Maxim Marchenko. Mizintsev then said that a representative of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service (GSChS) tried to prevent this, but he was threatened with execution. “When these criminal acts are implemented, densely populated areas along with the townspeople will be in the flood zone,” the Russian ministry said at the time.
