Bashkiria plans to open direct flights from Ufa to Tel Aviv. The initiative was discussed on Thursday, June 3, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Radiy Khabirov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to RUSSIA Alexander Ben Zvi.
Similar plans were announced in 2019, but their implementation was prevented by the covid-19 pandemic . The HEAD of Bashkiria stressed that direct flights will increase the tourist and investment attractiveness of the region. According to him, at the initial stage the republic is ready to subsidize flights to Tel Aviv from the budget.
“Many tourists fly from Bashkortostan to Israel, including pilgrims. Another important area is cooperation in the field of medicine,” said Radiy Khabirov. He noted the building of relations between Bashkiria and the Khorev medical center, within the framework of which a group of regional doctors had an internship in Israel, in addition, several small patients from Bashkiria with severe diagnoses received treatment at this medical facility.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Russia Alexander Ben Zvi supported plans to open direct flights to Bashkiria.
“We will be very glad to have guests from Bashkortostan. I think that the republic can be interesting for tourists from Israel as well. Let me remind you that more than 1.5 million immigrants from Russia live in our country. I hope that the situation with the CORONAVIRUS will soon improve, quarantine restrictions will become a thing of the past,” the ambassador said.
