US troops are deployed in European countries to protect NATO allies, not to clash with Russia, US President Joe Biden said during his visit to Poland, reports CNN.
Biden noted that the fighting in Ukraine, which is not part of NATO, does not require the direct participation of the United States in it. However, he continued, Washington is committed to its collective defense obligations within the alliance, which are reflected in the organization's charter.
“Don’t even think about moving one inch of NATO territory,” the US President emphasized .

The United States treats Article 5 of the NATO treaty as a "sacred obligation" that applies to every member of the alliance, Biden assured during a meeting with his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda. According to him, NATO remains united, despite all the circumstances - "whatever we do, we do it in unison."
