US President Joe Biden said in an interview with ABC News that his failure in the debate with former President Donald Trump was solely his fault.

"The way I was prepared was no one's fault but mine," Biden said.

Journalist George Stephanopoulos echoed former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's question: "Was this a bad episode or a sign of a more serious condition?"

"It was a bad episode," the American leader assured. "There are no signs of a serious condition." According to Biden, he was exhausted and did not listen to himself.

Stephanopoulos also asked Biden why he had not had enough time to rest and recover. “Because I was sick. I felt terrible,” the president said. According to Biden, he asked doctors to test for covid-19 , but the virus was not detected. “I just had a bad cold,” the politician explained.

The president insists he is “still in good shape” and said no when asked if he has become “weaker.” Biden said he has not taken cognitive tests or been examined by a neurologist. “Wherever I go, I have doctors from the best countries in the world traveling with me. I have a constant assessment of what I’m doing. They don’t hesitate to tell me if they think something is wrong,” he said.

The American leader admitted that he "screwed up" in the debate with Trump, explaining the failure by fatigue from flights. At the same time, he stated that he does not intend to withdraw from the election race and assured that he will win. The sponsors of the Democrats began talking about the possible withdrawal of Biden from the elections.
