Biden passes second negative test for COVID-19 Joe Biden

US President Joe Biden tested negative twice a week after contracting CORONAVIRUS and will return to face-to-face work, REUTERS reports.

The disease of 79-year-old Biden became known on July 21; having become infected, he switched to remote work. The American leader passed the first negative test on July 26, the second on July 27.

"My symptoms were mild, my recovery was quick and I feel great," Biden said after receiving a negative result.

The American President is fully vaccinated and received two booster shots. After being infected, he began taking Pfizer's Paxlovid (nirmatrelvir), which has been approved by WHO for the treatment of patients with mild illness but a high risk of hospitalization.

The president's attending physician, Kevin O'Connor, noted that Biden had a runny nose, fatigue, and from time to time a dry cough. By July 25, the doctor said, almost all of these symptoms had ceased to appear, but Biden himself said that he still had a hoarse voice and a sore throat.

As O'Connor pointed out, Biden most likely contracted the BA.5 variant of the omicron strain of the coronavirus.
