US and French Presidents Joe Biden and Emmanuel Macron, Italian and British Prime Ministers Mario Draghi and Boris Jornson, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz discussed measures to ensure energy security, according to the White House website.
"They also discussed the importance of maintaining the stability of energy markets in light of the current disruption due to sanctions," the statement said.
The leaders intend to continue the sanctions pressure on RUSSIA because of the military operation in Ukraine and to provide assistance to Kyiv in the field of security. In addition, Biden, Macron, Draghi, Johnson and Scholz spoke about efforts
to provide humanitarian assistance, including to refugees.
The website of the German government reports that the heads of the United States and France, as well as the prime ministers of Italy and Britain, again called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop hostilities and withdraw Russian troops from Ukrainian territory. The conflict must be resolved through diplomacy, they are convinced. The leaders also ask for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Ukrainians and the creation of humanitarian corridors, in particular, for the evacuation and assistance to the residents of Mariupol.
