AvtoVAZ extended the downtime for some employees for another week, it will be valid from May 23 to May 27, according to the group of the trade union organization of the enterprise on VKontakte.

Downtime is introduced due to the lack of components. It is set for employees who are not involved in "urgent work to ensure the functioning of AvtoVAZ, the manufacture of spare parts and work on new projects." These workers are compensated two-thirds of the average wage.

This week, AvtoVAZ is idle for the same reason; earlier it was introduced at the enterprise from May 11 to 13. Prior to this, AvtoVAZ resumed limited production after a planned corporate holiday from 4 to 24 April. Due to the "crisis in the supply of electronic components", the company postponed this holiday: it was originally scheduled from the end of July to mid-August.

In addition, from June 6, AvtoVAZ will transfer employees to a four-day work week. This regime will be established for workers at factories in Izhevsk and Tolyatti. It will be valid for three months and will affect all employees of the enterprise.

The French Renault transferred its controlling stake in AvtoVAZ to the structure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - FSUE "NAMI", and its Moscow plant - to the Moscow government. As the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said, the deal provides for Renault the opportunity to buy back its stake within six years.

After Renault leaves the Russian market, the AvtoVAZ plant in Togliatti will start producing Renault Duster cars under the Lada brand, and it is planned to resume the production of Moskviches at the Moscow plant. According to Manturov, the French automaker intends to help with the supply of components to Russia from friendly countries.
