Maintaining restrictions on the departure of tourists to other countries in the face of a shortage of places at resorts in RUSSIA itself threatens to once again leave Russians without a holiday at sea, according to a letter (available to RBC), which was sent to the HEAD of the federal headquarters for combating covid-19 , Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, First Vice-President of the Association of Tour Operators (ATOR) Vladimir Kantorovich.
“The limited capacity of Russian resorts will not allow many Russians to go to the sea, which means that hundreds of thousands of people will be deprived of sea holidays for the second year,” the letter says.
A particularly strong blow, ATOR noted, was the closure of Turkey for Russian tourists, after which about 1.3 million people lost the opportunity to relax, and the volume of obligations of Russian travel agencies to customers increased to 44 billion rubles.
Kantorovich noted that officially leaving Russia for vacation is now possible in 21 countries, but only half of them are of interest to the mass Russian tourist. Yes, and it’s difficult to get there because of the tenfold cut in comparison with 2019, air traffic.
Meanwhile, some countries, including Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Tunisia, etc., which are popular with tourists from Russia, are ready to accept Russians without mandatory quarantine upon arrival - it is enough to confirm the fact of vaccination or pass a proving no COVID-19 test. Moreover, the incidence of COVID-19 in these countries is low.
