The use of Sputnik V in Syria was approved on February 22. A day earlier, The New York Times reported on an agreement allegedly reached between Israel and Syria: the Syrian side will release a detained Israeli woman who illegally crossed the border, and in exchange, the Israeli side will buy a batch of vaccine from Russia and transfer it to Damascus. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov did not comment on the messages that appeared on this topic.
