April was the worst month for Amazon and Alphabet stocks since the global financial crisis in 2008. It is reported by CNBC.

Due to a combination of factors, including disappointing quarterly reports and macroeconomic volatility, Alphabet's quotes fell 18% in April, Amazon's - 23.8%. For comparison, in November 2008 the securities lost 18.5% and 25.4% respectively. In total, the market value   of companies from the FAANG group decreased by more than $1 trillion in April.

The NASDAQ Composite also suffered its biggest loss since October 2008. At the end of April 2022, the indicator fell by 13.27%. The S&P 500 fell 8.8% over the month, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 4.9%.
