The Supreme COURT of Bashkiria adopted an appellate ruling obliging the authorities of the city of Ufa and the owners of the Vidineev's House and the House where the printing house of the Alga newspaper was located to restore the objects. The buildings are located on Karla Marksa Street, 13 and 15. At the end of September 2021, the Sovetsky District Court of Ufa made the corresponding decision, the appeal instance upheld it. The decision has come into force, the press service of the Office for the State Protection of Cultural Heritage Objects of the Republic of Belarus (Bashkultnasledie) reports.
“Owners of cultural heritage objects are required to prepare projects for carrying out work to preserve cultural heritage objects by August 19, 2022; within six months - to organize the conduct of the state historical and cultural expertise of projects; within 18 months - to organize work on the conservation (restoration) of architectural monuments, ”the message says.
The defendants were the administration of Ufa, the Municipal Unitary Enterprise "Customer and Technical Supervision Service" and ISK "Hermitage" LLC.
Litigation in this case has been going on since 2019. In 2020, the Leninsky District Court of Ufa already made a decision in favor of Bashkultnaslediya, but then it was canceled. The department believes that the owners of the buildings deliberately delayed the process.
“The unscrupulous owners of the buildings deliberately dragged out the lawsuit, which lasted almost three years. To date, thanks to the judicial act that has entered into legal force, despite the right of the defendants to appeal against it in cassation, we have received all the levers of influence aimed at restoring the monuments. I consider this inevitable in the near future,” said Ainur Farkhiev, deputy HEAD of the Bashkultnaslediya.
Located in the neighborhood "Vidineev's House" and "The house in which the printing house of the Alga newspaper was located" are architectural monuments of the late 19th - early 20th century built. The former building of the printing house of the Alga newspaper was included in the list of cultural heritage sites in 1987, the Vidineev House in 1992. The Vidineev House was built in 1900-1903. For several years it was the largest civil building in Ufa. At various times, it housed the Peterhof Hotel, a labor exchange, a branch of the Siberian Bank, the Provincial Land Management Commission and other facilities.
As RBC Ufa reported, in the summer of 2018, a major fire broke out in the building, which was extinguished for about ten hours. The building was badly damaged by fire. In the Bashkultnaslediya, the responsibility for the incident was placed on the city administration. Prior to this, the object had been abandoned and unguarded for many years.
