SOC Investment Group, a shareholder of Activision Blizzard, has called for a vote against the merger between the video game maker and Microsoft at its upcoming shareholder meeting on April 28, 2022. This was reported on the Activision Blizzard website.

"We are skeptical that any deal with Microsoft (or a similar acquirer) would be viable, given changes in antitrust laws and the obvious sources of potential competitive damage from the merger," the shareholder said in a letter.

SOC Investment Group advised Activision Blizzard shareholders to replace the current board of directors with those who will enable the company to realize its real potential, including actively engaging with employees and empowering them in an effort to reshape the corporate culture and restore the company's reputation.

In January, Microsoft announced plans to buy Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion.
