Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences spoke about the experience of weakening the Wuhan strain of COVID-19

at the Institute of Vaccines and Serums. Mechnikov, scientists managed to weaken the Wuhan strain of coronavirus. This was announced in an interview with Radio RUSSIA by a virologist, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vitaly Zverev.

“We managed to attenuate (weaken) the coronavirus, this is the same Wuhan strain that grows at low temperatures,” the academician said.

He added that "no one wants to talk about a live vaccine" because that would require studying the propensity for reversions, that is, back mutations. Zverev noted that it is possible that this will be proven in the future, but no one will allow "it to be used as a vaccine," since the drug should not cause disease in any form, even mild.

“Therefore, to say that it is, as it were, a natural vaccine or artificially made, is not entirely true, because it causes diseases, yes, mild ones, but it does. There should not be a single chance, that is, not one in a thousand, that this virus, for example, in a person with the same weakened immune system, will suddenly cause a disease, ”he said.

Earlier, virologist Pyotr Chumakov admitted that the Omicron strain could be a “live vaccine” and was artificially created to end the pandemic.
