SCC pointed out shortcomings in the supervisory activities of the bodies of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus

Today the participants of the meeting of the Interdepartmental Council on control (supervisory) activities have considered the practice of control (supervisory) activities of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and discussed ways to improve IT.

"The State Control Committee and the General Prosecutor's Office have analyzed supervision organizations in the field of veterinary medicine, seed farming, quarantine and plant protection, quality of grain, Flour, cereals, mixed fodder. They also paid attention to the rational distribution of labor and material resources. We have seen how the results of control correspond to the number of activities - said Denis Bartosh. - We've found numerous instances when inspectors 4-5 times gave orders to eliminate violations and only after that we took administrative measures. There were cases where violations were not corrected at all, and inspectors never took appropriate measures.

The general conclusion of the analytical activities is that in the organizations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food is underestimated control over the results of supervisory activities. The insufficient qualification of inspectors and the need to improve their material and technical resources were also pointed out. Information on all shortcomings with recommendations for their correction was sent to the Ministry of Agriculture and subordinate bodies.

"The SCC together with the Prosecutor General's Office next year will continue to analyze the control activities of state bodies. In particular, the Prosecutor General's Office suggested studying the practice of local financial bodies to control the efficient and purposeful spending of budgetary funds", - added Denis Bartosh.

The Interagency Council on control (oversight) activities was formed under the State Control Committee in December 2017. It includes representatives of the SCC, the Prosecutor General's Office, other government agencies, as well as the business community.
