“This is partly a manipulative move on the part of retailers, who thereby want to keep their profits, while at the same time absolve themselves of responsibility,” Yermolenko said. — On the other hand, retail chain suppliers confuse retailers and say that starting from the third quarter, prices for such types of products as eggs, Milk , chicken, pasta will be higher. Either take IT or we won't deliver. But these suppliers are not agricultural producers or processors. They are just wholesalers. And they cannot supply products at the old prices to retail chains, since the agricultural producer no longer sells at the old prices. As for the rise in prices, Ermolenko believes that it is not worth waiting for in July and August.

Suppliers require retailers to raise prices in the third quarter 

“But in the autumn there will really be an increase in prices for chicken, pork, eggs, Flour, pasta, bread, milk, cheeses and other products. All because of the heat,” concluded Yermolenko.

There is an opinion that one of the reasons for the rise in prices for agricultural products was the rise in price of fertilizers in the domestic market of the Russian Federation.
