Belarusian ruble became leader on decline of for dollar on post-Soviet space for last 5 months.

The official dollar rate increased by 14.57% (from 2.1036 to 2.41) in January-May 2020. This is the first indicator in the former Soviet Union. According to the comparative analysis of central bank quotes, conducted by BelaPAN on December 31, 2019 and May 31, 2020, the U.S. dollar rate increased by 1.62% in January (seventh place), while in January-February - by 6.44% (second), in the first quarter - by 23.71% (second), January-April - by 15.81% (second).
 
In addition to Belarus, the leaders in terms of dollar growth for the five months of this year were: Russia - by 14.29% (from 61.9057 to 70.7520 rubles), Ukraine - by 13.59% (from 23.6862 to 26.9059 hryvnia), Georgia - by 10.75% (from 2.8677 to 3.1761 GEL), Kazakhstan - by 7.96% (from 381.18 to 411.54 tenge).
 
Next: Uzbekistan - 6.64% (from 9,507.56 to 10. Tajikistan - 6.00% (from 9,6872 to 10,2685 somoni), Kyrgyzstan - 5.92% (from 69,6439 to 73,7678 somoni), Moldova - 2.43% (from 17,2093 to 17,6277 lei), Armenia - 0.878% (from 479,70 to 483,91 drams), Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia - 0.876% (from 0.8902 to 0.8980 euro).
 
In Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, the official dollar rate has not changed (1.7 and 3.5 manat, respectively).
 
In May, the dollar fell by 1.07% in Belarus - the eighth rate after Kyrgyzstan (6.56%), Kazakhstan (4.16%), Russia (3.99%), Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia (2.34% each) and Moldova (1.51%). In Georgia, the exchange rate of the American currency has decreased by 0.85%, in Ukraine - by 0.24%, in Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan - has not changed, in Uzbekistan - increased by 0.09%, in Tajikistan - by 0.25%, in Armenia - by 0.97%.
 
In self-proclaimed Transnistria, which has its own financial system, the rate did not change in January-May (16.1 rubles).
 
During the first five months of 2019, the official dollar rate in Belarus fell by 2.99% (second place in the former Soviet Union), while the year-end - by 2.60% (third). In 2018, Belarus took third place in the growth of the official dollar exchange rate against the national currency (by 9.48%), in 2017 - fourth (by 0.73%), in 2016 - sixth (by 5.47%), in 2015 and 2014 - third (by 56.70 and 24.61%, respectively), in 2013 - second (by 10.97%), in 2012 - fourth (by 2.63%), in 2011 - first (by 178.33%), in 2010 - seventh (by 4.79%), in 2009 - first (by 30.14%), in 2008 - ninth (by 2.33%).
